Dru Volunteering

The Dru Centre is one of the largest retreat centres for yoga, meditation and Ayurveda in the United Kingdom.

We have been teaching skills for positive health and wellbeing for more than 40 years.

Through our work, thousands of people live more empowered lives and it is because of our volunteers that we have been able to touch so many people globally.

Our volunteers are at the heart of who we are at Dru...

As a social enterprise, we really care about creating a better world though our health, wellbeing, peace and not-for-profit initiatives and it’s been through working together as a team that we have been able to create lasting positive changes.

The volunteers in our team come from all walks of life and from all over the world. Their creativity and care transforms all that we do and offer out to the world. For the yoga enthusiast, volunteering is a way of taking yoga off the mat and into everyday life (karma yoga). Over many years we've discovered that working together as a team for a greater purpose can add a huge amount of meaning to life.

You can volunteer with us in various ways:

  • At our Dru International Training Centre - as a member of karma yoga week, as a short-term volunteer or as a long-term volunteer, or even as part of our Dru Internship program (2 weeks to 2 months) in the fabulous mountains of Snowdonia.
  • At our other Dru Centres - as we're an international organisation we have centres throughout UK, Europe and Australasia. Check out our local centres and consider volunteering locally.
  • From home as a volunteer - we know many of you would love to come to spend weeks with us at our Dru Centre - but sometimes it's simply not possible with other commitments. Volunteering from home is a great way to feel like you're giving back - without even stepping out your front door!

Short-term volunteering
Visit for a day or more and discover the magic of Dru behind the scenes and what it’s like to be a volunteer at a health and wellbeing yoga training centre.

This is a great way to get to know the Dru team, extend your skills, do something worthwhile and have a taste of what it’s like to be part of a not-for-profit organisation.

Volunteering at the Dru Centre is both rewarding and lots of fun and you'll meet lots of amazing people like yourself who want to make a fulfilling contribution to the world.

If you would like to stay overnight in our B&B facilities, your accommodation and daily food will be reduced from our regular guest rates to just £10 a night.

There are a variety of fulfilling volunteer opportunities including:

Karma Yoga weeks

Karma Yoga week

Something magical happens when people with a shared vision come together to work as a team. There is nothing like that feeling of fulfilment when you join with others to strive for a common purpose.
Several times a year we run Karma Yoga weeks at the lodge where you can play a part in improving the workings of our main Dru Centre.
Some of the most routine jobs can be so much fun when they are done together. And they are even more enriching when you also come together to share food, have fun and even do a little yoga or meditation. Karma Yoga weeks are also a great way to make new friends that can support you in living a more healthy and positive life.

Karma yoga = service = contribution = teamwork = being part of a community
