Pranayama

Happy Hanuman Jayanti! Today's free technique-the Windmill Breath.

The purpose of the windmill is to open your chest and expand it so that you breath more openly and deeply. I also strengthen the diaphragm, stretches the neck muscles and loosens up the shoulder blades.

Prana and Pranayama

For many years we have explored the multitude of the physical benefits of yoga, and of course, the very calming effects of meditation. But maybe you, like me, have also heard whispers of ‘energy’ in your yoga class... Or perhaps you’ve felt something that was a little beyond the realm of the ‘normal’ and physical?

Yoga for REAL women (like you and me)

Real yoga for real womenI'm not a ‘size 8 with skimpy shorts and a 6-pack’ kinda girl… In fact I’m a curvy lass of size 18. And, shocking as it may seem to popular social media, I do my yoga and I love it :-) But, I also struggle with maintaining a regular practice and I sure as heaven ain’t going to be standing on my head anytime soon!

Wake up the Ayurvedic way

Did you know there's such a thing as waking up at the perfect time each morning for your unique constitution (dosha)?

Ayurveda and Yoga both believe that how you wake up, as well as when, is crucial to experiencing a vibrant, stress-free, energised and purposeful day.

So tomorrow morning, before you jump out of bed and dive in to your day (or reach for your phone!), maybe take just 5 minutes to focus yourself.
