Notes and sources

We've based our formulae on data from the UK, EU and US environmental agencies, UN Committee on Climate Change as well as carbon footprint calculators that are authorised to grant carbon offset certificates. We've made averages, so please understand that our figures are intended to be an average for your inspiration rather than an accurate amount for certification. For food, we used the BBC's food calculator. It's really great!

Our trees are planted with love and individually nurtured and so are expected to have a very long average lifespan. Nevertheless, we've been conservative in our figures - to help the planet - and have based our calculations on an average lifespan of 30 years.
