Three Dru Meditation tools for happiness

I always experience an upsurge of joy when I see signs of spring, especially after a harsh winter. I’ve been asking myself how to actively increase that feeling of happiness even when life is challenging or when it’s raining.

According to recent research, meditation seems to be an answer, as it seems to be the only activity which resets the brain’s happiness set point. As a meditation teacher trainer and psychology graduate, my ears always prick up when I hear that we can change our minds in relatively simple ways.

I spent two months at the Dru Yoga Centre in Snowdonia, Wales and I can say those two months were life changing…

As a volunteer I worked in Dimensions health food shop in Bangor and in the accommodation office reception. Working in the health food shop gave me loads of new opportunities to learn new skills  and gave me chance to experience a working environment that I hope one day I can reproduce in my own business ventures.

Yes, autumn is here again. We so often approach autumn with mixed feelings – it’s a bit like marmite – you either love it or you hate it. On the one hand, it’s the romantic season of ‘mists and mellow fruitfulness’, with beautiful colours in the trees, harvesting fruit, warm evenings and beautiful skies.  On the other, it signals the end of the summer and therefore the onset of the colder winter months – and so can be depressing time for many of us.
