Keen to go deeper on your path of personal development and do something truly worthwhile? 

 

 

Join the Dru team and experience life in a yoga community doing a variety of fulling volunteer activities. You can stay with us between two weeks up to two months. 

You will learn the principles of karma yoga and bhakti yoga.

You can also participate in weekly yoga classes and you can attend other various inspirational classes/satsangs/kirtan sessions at the Dru Centre.

SAMPLE DAILY SCHEDULE

08:00 – 09:00    Breakfast 
09.00 – 10.00    Free time (perhaps a walk in beautiful Snowdonia National Park)
10.00 – 13.15    Working with your team 
13.15 – 14.15    Lunch
14.15 – 17.30    Working with your team
17.30 – 18.45    Free time
18.45 – 19:30    Dinner
19.30 – 20.30    Free Time or optional evening programme (yoga, meditation, chanting, etc)

Learn a variety of skills by working within one or more of the Dru Teams 

Long term volunteeres generally work within one or more of the Dru Teams:

  • Dru Accommodation Team: Opportunities may include: welcoming people at the front desk, showing people to their rooms, making sure guests have everything they need, answering phones and dealing with online bookings.
  • Dru Centre Main Office Team: Opportunities may include: administration, answering phones, dealing with queries, filing, making phone calls, social media and writing newsletters.
  • Dru Health Store (Dimensions Team): Opportunities may include: serving customers, cooking vegetarian meals, marketing, graphics, writing newsletters, social media, blogs.
  • Dru Human Resources (HR) Team: Opportunities may include: clerical support, research support, legal support, contract writing.
  • Dru Maintenance Team: Opportunities may include: lawn and grounds care, gardening, painting, carpentry, plumbing, tiling, general building, electrical, mechanical and automotive skills.
  • Dru Publishing Team: Opportunities may include: proofreading, editing and research.
  • Dru Welcome Centre Team: Opportunities may include: mail order, answering phones and emails, taking payments, stocking shelves, pricing goods, upgrading displays, product development and ordering, reception duties – welcoming people and people care
  • Dru Yoga Online Team: Opportunities may include: writing newsletters, transcribing interviews, editing and proofreading web pages and video editing.
  • Dru IT/Web Team: Opportunities may include: developing and updating websites and databases, and programming.

Your karma yoga contribution will be for six to eight hours a day (and will be no more than 40 hours) spread over a 5½ day week. 

As an intern, you will have a mentor to ensure that your experience at the Dru Centre is rewarding and fulfilling at every level. 

Vegetarian meals will be provided along with shared accommodation at the Dru Centre, Snowdonia Mountain Lodge (snowdoniamountainlodge.com).  

The internship programme is open to people 18 years or over and usually offered to individuals who have completed a minimum of 2 weeks of our regular Volunteer Programme.
